BIOPAD equine collagen membranes
Biopad are membranes of heterologous type I equine collagen, used effectively in dentistry to protect the treated area and, after the extraction, preserve the alveolus’s volume and facilitate clotting.
Biopad is a freeze-dried and sterile heterologous type I equine collagen, supplied in membranes, i.e., spongy blocks, that adapt effectively to different bone defects, providing up to three weeks of protection and promoting cell growth and fibrinogenesis. Biopad membranes can be used effectively as a hemostatic adjuvant in antiplatelet therapy patients. The biomaterial compensates for the lack of platelet aggregation caused by drugs by stimulating clot formation within the post-extraction socket.
Biopad membranes do not require stabilization using screws as they adhere naturally, thanks to the hemostatic action of collagen.
Biopad performs several actions:
– hemostatic action activates platelets and stimulates growth factors.
– supports fibroblast and granulation tissue proliferation.
– provides a biological stimulus by activating fibronectin, fibroblasts, monocytes, and also-collagen.
– exerts an angiogenetic action by stimulating capillary neoformation.
